How to get Great Headshots in Los Angeles : “A Headshot is not a photograph, it is a marketing tool.” – Bonnie Gillespie

Actors in Los Angeles need to know what makes a great Headshot.

I’ve been reading L.A. casting Director Bonnie Gillespie’s latest edition of Self Management For Actors.
It is the most comprehensive guide to managing your career as an actor in Los Angeles.

In it she talks about Primary Type. Creating a Headshot that does its job as a marketing tool takes knowing your Primary Type – What buyers (Agents / Manager/ Casting Directors / Directors / Audience) want to buy from you as an actor.

To get a Headshot that gets you called in by Casting Directors you must know what it is you are selling as an individual and find a way to capture that image in an 8 x 10 Photo.

Bonnie posted a great Musecast video on her Facebook page from actress Helenna Santos.

Check out Helenna’s and all the Musecast Videos on YouTube.

If you are serious about a career in acting I urge you to get Self Management for Actors by Bonnie Gillespie. It will help you become more proactive in your career.

Stimulate the local Economy by picking it up it up at your local bookstore or ordering it at Amazon.
