James Cameron at TED

“Failure is an option, but Fear is not.” – James Cameron TED Talks 2010

If you follow James Cameron’s lead you may find the rewards of failure greater than you can imagine.   You take an enormous risk just by being an actor.  Live boldly and risk it all.  Don’t hold anything back.

Watch the following video and to learn about the man who created many of the highest grossing movies of all time. Terminator, The Titanic,  Avatar all came from this man’s imagination and willingness to risk it all.

Go to the TED Website for more talks and presentations of this kind.

Hotdiggity Bonnie Gillespie Does it Again – (with a little help from her freinds)! – SAG and How to Taft Hartley Yourself!!!!

SAG New Media Contract makes it easier than ever to get in the Union

I know many actors who feel like they are ready to get their SAG card.  It’s a common misconception that getting into the Screen Actors Guild is hard and takes years of background work to get the three vouchers required to become SAG Eligible.  Getting vouchers has to be the slowest, least rewarding route into the union.

I got mine very simply by having a unique skill (sports photography) that put me in a principle role on a Canon Cameras Commercial.  I wasn’t even trying to get a Taft Hartley at the time, but I wasn’t about to argue.

If you aren’t reading all of Bonnie Gillespie’s articles in Showfax you are missing out on a Masters degree in The Business of Acting in Hollywood.

A step by step explanation of how to get a Taft Hartley by producing your own project for the web can be found in the May 1st, 2010  The Actors Voice-POV from contributing writer Danielle Cloutier.

Read her blog here: Gratitude & Attitude

For an in depth explanation of process of joining the union go to my friend Ben Whitehair and his co-authors at Playbills v.s. Paying Bills.
