Nikon Z6 with NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S Sample Photos

I recently started using the Nikon Z6, and decided to see how the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 would fare as a general-purpose travel lens.

The sample photos below were taken at Historic White Pine Village near Ludington, MI. Overall, I was very happy with the 24-70, although I wished it had a little bit more wide-end range for interior shots. While f/4 on full-frame gives good enough narrow depth of field for 90% of my needs, I found myself wishing for an f/1.8 or f/2.8 for a small handful of shots. For example, the Detroit scale in the gallery below was shot at f/4, and I felt it could have used a bit more separation from the background.

However, minor issues aside, I found this body and lens to be one of the best combinations I have ever used from any system. The Z6’s amazing high-ISO performance combined with IBIS and a versatile lens that remains very sharp from corner to corner makes for a highly-satisfying pairing for a wide variety of situations.
